There was nothing in the house I wanted to eat. It's a beautiful day, though, so I walked about a half mile to the combination convenience store/gas station/sandwich shop. (This is the same place that thought I was a robber when I walked in wearing my motorcycle helmet.) I got a sandwich and learned they expect a shipment of gas this afternoon or evening. Woo-hoo!
It's interesting to learn how I can live with almost no driving. I only drive about 9,000 miles a year anyway since I work at home. Now, with this gas shortage I only drive when I absolutely must, like for the video project this week. I can't just bop out to the store whenever I get the whim. I combine as many errands as I can. All wise stuff anyway.
The downside, though, is the less I'm on the road the less my chances of encountering an open gas station before the heavy drivers drain it dry. The station above might have had gas every day and I wouldn't have known. Ah, the irony.
