Halloween was wonderful when I moved into this house 14 years ago. There was no one in the neighborhood under 15 years old, so I never got trick-or-treaters. But demographics have changed. Most of the empty nesters died or moved away and young couples moved in. Sigh.
So in case not having any exterior lights on doesn't deter ghosts, skeletons, ninjas and princesses, I taped a sign to my door announcing: Sorry, I don't do Halloween.
Boo humbug.
UPDATE: Oh joy! It just started raining. Hard.
OOohhhh...It's my favorite holiday! I just bought a Devil's Mistress costume (guess you know what that makes youknowwho)and an awe-some zombiewitchlady to hang on my fence.

I like Halloween and all, but I consider Trick or Treating a nuisance. I'm not a huge fan of pretending I think kids are cute- dressed up or not. I don't like answering the door all night either. Usually leaving all the lights off keeps them from bothering with my house. However one year someone egged my door. I guess I was being punished for not giving out candy. There's an economic genius. Spend an egg for a two cent piece of candy. It's great knowing some kid in my neighborhood is a blooming vandal. Buh humbug-boo.
